Jehovah's Witnesses
in Ukraine
The Jehovah's Witnesses are very active in Ukraine. Their current Administrative Center in Lviv, has several large halls where 16 of Lviv's 46 congregations of Jehovah's Witnesses meet regularly. The building, which the Jehovah's Witnesses refer to as "Bethel", also contains offices for over 120 staff members working at their headquarters in Ukraine. The walls dividing the halls upstairs are removed periodically to accommodate over 1600 people for their regular Circuit Assemblies. The Jehovah's Witnesses have hosted meetings with over 2000 people in attendance at this facility.
They are currently in the process of constructing a multi-building facility on several acres of land outside the city. This will include offices for planning and coordination of their efforts in Ukraine and for their Ukrainian translation department. The facilities also include warehouses and truck bays to organize the distribution of tons of literature being printed in the Ukrainian language, as well as a large facility for Jehovah's Witness congregations to meet in.
The work of Jehovah's Witnesses is very active in Ukraine. Witnesses can be seen throughout the country, spreading the doctrines of the Watchtower Society. The 1998 Field Service report in the January 1, 1999 Watchtower magazine records the activity of over 100,000 active Jehovah's Witnesses.
