I AM A NEW CHRISTIAN
WHAT DO I DO NOW?

WHAT GOD HAS DONE FOR YOU

When you received Christ as your Saviour, several things took place in your life.

1. YOU BECAME A CHILD OF GOD.
"But as many as received Him, to them gave He power (or right) to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name." John 1:12.

2. YOUR SINS WERE FORGIVEN.
"To him give all the prophets witness, that through His name whosoever believeth in Him shall receive remission (forgiveness) of sins." Acts 10:43 .

3. YOU PASSED FROM DEATH UNTO LIFE.
"Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth My word, and believeth on Him that sent Me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation but is passed from death unto life." John 5:24.

4. YOU RECEIVED ETERNAL LIFE AS A GIFT.
"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23.

5. YOU SHALL NOT COME INTO CONDEMNATION.
"There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the spirit." Romans 8:1.

WHAT YOU SHOULD DO FOR HIM

Eternal life is a gift received from God by faith. You cannot buy it, you cannot earn it, neither can you work to keep it. It is all by grace.

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God; Not of works, lest any man should boast." Ephesians 2:8-9.

However, there are certain things God expects from you now.

1. YOU SHOULD BE SCRIPTURALLY BAPTIZED.
"And He commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord." Acts 10:48

"Many of the Corinthians hearing be-lieved, and were baptized." Acts 18:8

"Buried with Him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with Him through the faith of the operation of God, Who hath raised Him from the dead." Colossians 2:12

2. YOU SHOULD READ THE BIBLE DAILY (King James Version)
"As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the Word, that ye may grow thereby." I Peter 2:2.

"Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom." Colossians 3:16.

"Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth." II Timothy 2:15

3. YOU SHOULD PRAY DAILY.
"Evening, and morning, and at noon , will I pray, and cry aloud: and He shall hear my voice." Psalm 55:17.

"Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak." Matthew 26:41

"Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiv-ing let your requests be made known unto God." Philippians 4:6

4. YOU SHOULD CONFESS YOUR SINS DAILY.
"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." I John 1:9

5. YOU SHOULD TELL OTHERS ABOUT CHRIST.
"Ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem , and in all Judaea , and in Samaria and unto the uttermost part of the earth." Acts 1:8

6. YOU SHOULD KEEP YOUR HEART AND THOUGHTS CLEAN.
"If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me" Psalm 66:18.

7. YOU SHOULD ATTEND A BIBLE BELIEVING CHURCH REGULARLY.
"Not forsaking the assembling of our-selves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another; and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching." Heb-rews 10:25.

8. YOU SHOULD WORK FOR THE LORD.
"Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord." I Corinthians 15:58.

9. YOU SHOULD LOOK FOR THE SOON RETURN OF THE LORD.
"For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air; and so shall we ever be with the Lord." I Thessalonians 4:16-17.

Distribute gospel tracts. Go on visitation for your church, attend all the services on the Lord's Day, remember prayer meeting during the week. Give at least a tithe of your income to the Lord. Be a witness for Jesus wherever you are. Put Him first in your life.
