I'm A Child of A King
Arrangement from Kate Buell  J.H. Tenney
(THESE ARE THE ORIGINAL WORDS AS WRITTEN BY KATE BUELL IN 1886.)
My Father is rich, not in houses and lands,
But he holdeth the wealth of the world in his hands,
The rubies and diamonds, the silver and gold
Of the earth are all his; he has riches untold.
My Father's own Son, the Saviour from sin,
Once wandered o'er earth as the poorest of men;
But now he is reigning for ever on high,
And will give us a home in the sweet by and by.
I once was an outcast, a stranger on earth,
A sinner by choice, and an alien by birth;
But I've been adopted, my name's written down
As an heir to a mansion, a robe and a crown.
A tent or a cottage, O why should I care?
They are building a palace for me over there;
Though exiled from home, yet forever I'll sing,
"Hallelujah to God, I'm a child of a king!"
CHORUS
I'm a child of a King! I'm a child of a King!
For Christ is my Saviour, I'm a child of a King!
