Honey, the hot water is back on again, but it's cold!

How often my husband has heard these words from me since we have been in the Ukraine. You see, living in a third world country you never know from day to day what "luxuries" you are going to have.

Being on the mission field has taught us to be thankful for the "little" things that we used to take for granted. Water is one of our most precious "luxuries" because we just never know when it is going to be turned off, for how long or even what color it will be when we do have it.

As Y2K approached and with it the realization that we may be without water for a long period of time I began to pray about coping without it. How would I be able to deal with it?

After all water is essential for everything: drinking and cooking, doing the laundry, washing the dishes, taking showers, and flushing the toilet. It's the one thing that we need the most to live.

But there is a water that is much more important than the kind that comes out of the tap. That is the water of life. And that is Jesus Christ.

(John 4:10) Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.

The people of the Ukraine are used to living without water. But what they are not used to is living with the "well of water springing up into everlasting life".

(John 4:13-14) Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

Y2K has come and gone. It could have been something; it turned out to be nothing. Praise the Lord.

But one thing is for certain. Hell is forever. And those that do have this Living Water shall not see hell but those that don't will spend eternity there.

(Revelation 20:15) And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Only the Living Water can quench the flames of the Lake of Fire.

The people where you live as well as the people of the Ukraine need that Living Water. Tell someone about Jesus Christ today.
