We usually travel quite a distance in the summer for our annual church picnic and baptism. One year after a great baptism, 19 people having made a public profession of their faith in Jesus Christ, we settled in for the long bus ride home. I was especially tired as I do all the organizing for the annual event so I am very exhausted when it is over.
On the bus ride home I was seated next to the window on the left side of the bus and my husband was sitting next to me. I was gazing wearily out the window, trying to stay awake, enjoying the scenery, not realizing that he was doing the same. Everyone else was busy talking, laughing, singing, and just enjoying themselves in general.
We passed a small farmhouse where an elderly woman, probably in her 80's, was in her garden happily hoeing. There was nothing unusual about that especially considering that we were out in the boonies and there were other farms scattered along our route.
All of a sudden my jaw dropped open and my eyes popped out as I slowly turned my head to my right and there was my husband with the same expression on his face. We both stared at each other for a moment letting what happened sink in before we burst into laughter and asked each other the same question: "Did you see what I saw?"
What caught our eye was the fact that other than the scarf on her head, to protect her from the sun, grandma was totally naked!
