Church Fellowship

On Sunday February 4th we had an old-fashioned fellowship for our church in town. We showed the two videos that we had previously shown in the village and also had some great "eats." Everyone had a really good time.

Another Salvation Story

After a village meeting one of our Bible Institute students led a 74 year-old man named Ivan to the Lord. Ivan is a former coal miner who now works at the Cultural House where we meet for church. He has always been extremely helpful in setting up for our meetings and any additional events that we have had there. He recently started bringing his granddaughter to Junior Church. Praise the Lord for his faithfulness and for his decision.

Captive Audience

On the 9th we showed the last video in our series of Friday night films in the village. "Captive Faith" is the true story of Georgi Vins who was imprisioned in Russia for his faith in Jesus Christ. All those who attended were deeply moved by his testimony as portrayed in the film. One man, who attends our church, knew Georgi Vins personally. After the film I gave an invitation to receive Jesus Christ as Saviour.

Where Did They All Come From??

On Wednesday, the 21st, we had almost 70 people show up for church in the village, including thirty-five kids. Susan had planned for the seven faithful Junior Church children to present a play that night on Creation, complete with costumes. With flexibility as the motto all 35 participated in the production. The kids had a great time and the church folks really enjoyed the play and the singing. On Sunday the 25th the kids in our church in town also put on the Creation production to the delight of the congregation.

A Helping Hand

Several of our village folks have been very sick lately and we were able to help them with some cold and flu medicine. Thank you to those churches and individuals who sent us medical supplies last summer. We ourselves were also able to help out a couple of families in the church with some food.

Bibles for the Faithful

In our village church we presented a free Bible to those folks who have faithfully attended our services ten consecutive weeks. We recently gave away 8 Bibles and there are many more who will be receiving them in the weeks to come.

Kids, Kids Everywhere

On Saturday March 24th we had a special time of activities for the kids in the village. We didn't know how many to expect but Praise the Lord over 40 came. We had relay races, singing, prizes for the teams, as well as gave the kids cookies and candy. Each child who participated received a Bible storybook along with a tract and an invitation to join us on Wednesday nights at Kid's Club. There is a great need for some good wholesome activities for these kids. The only sources of entertainment for them in the village now are a disco, dancing and karate classes and smoking and drinking. We hope to do more of these activities in the future in any effort to continue to win these kids to Christ.

Tracts

We have printed 68,000 tracts since being here. Praise the Lord the people are open to receiving the literature. It is obvious that no one has reached out to these people with the gospel before. Please pray that we can see many come to know Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour through this ministry.

From the Mailbox

We have received many letters these two months from people who have responded to a gospel tract that our team has handed out. We respond to each letter either by mail or a personal visit to follow up on their decision for Christ and to get them into a Bible-believing church.

From the Bottom of Our Hearts

We thank you for your prayers and continued support of our ministry. Keep praying folks. God is still working in the hearts and lives of the people of Ukraine. (James 5:16b)

Sincerely in Christ,
Dr. Michael and Susan Todd
