June - July, 2001 Dear Friends and Supporters:
SalvationsThe Lord has blessed us and we have had 10 people accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour. After the Ladies Meeting in June, Katia asked Susan to speak to her two teenaged daughters about salvation. Two days later the girls came over to our house and Susan was able to lead both of them, individually, to the Lord. Also, in the village Susan and the girls were able to lead several of the children to trust Christ as their Saviour: Nastia (age 13); Sasha (age 10); Venera (age 9); Alexander (age 10); Vova (age 7) and Alona (age 13). Praise the Lord for the faithfulness of our Junior Church staff in teaching these kids about Jesus Christ.
46 YEAR-OLD MAN GETS SAVEDVolodya, the father of one of our Bible Institute students came to town for a visit. I presented the gospel to him and he trusted Jesus Christ as his Saviour. Amen! The first person he told was his wife who at first did not believe him until he broke down and cried while speaking of his Saviour. Please pray for this man as he has been a heavy drinker and has health problems.
Mother gets savedDennis, who has only been saved since April and has been helping us out this summer handing out tracts and learning to win souls, recently asked for prayer for the salvation of his mother. Two weeks later he was able to bring her to church for the first time. She thought she had gotten saved several years earlier reading a book that an Orthodox friend gave her. Susan explained salvation to her and Anna realized that she really was not saved. She bowed her head and through tears truly trusted Christ as her Saviour. We praise the Lord for our young people who are concerned about the spiritual condition of their own families as well as others.
twelve year-old soul-winnerDema, who we introduced to you in our last prayer letter, led his friend to the Lord only one month after he himself got saved. Dema is known in his neighborhood as “the saved one.” Praise the Lord for the faithful witness of this 12-year old soul-winner. We are trying to work out having Dema stay with us permanently. Please pray about this.
Ladies MeetingSTwo ladies meetings were recently held with over 20 ladies present in each meeting. So many of the women from the village want to attend that the meetings beginning in August will be held at the cultural house in the village from now on. Praise the Lord we have been offered the opportunity to meet there without charge.
TractsWe handed out another 65,000 tracts during June and July bringing our grand total to just over 630,000 gospel tracts given out in two years time. Praise the Lord!
Sincerely in Christ, Dr. and Mrs. Michael Todd |
