March - April, 2002 Dear Praying Friends: SPECIAL REPORT As you are reading this we are currently back in the states for a short furlough. Susan was diagnosed last year with cataracts and we came back for her to have laser surgery. However her eye doctor here in the states gave her a clean bill of health stating that she was misdiagnosed in Ukraine. Praise the Lord all that was needed was a stronger prescription for glasses. THE WORK CONTINUES Sasha, my right hand man, is filling in for me while I am away. We are keeping in touch with him by email and he has reported that the people are remaining faithful in attending church and two children plus one elderly lady named Nina have accepted Christ as their Saviour since we left. Praise the Lord for a faithful man to stand in the gap. 30,000 FEET ABOVE GERMANY On the flight from Kiev to Amsterdam I had the opportunity to speak with a 26-year old young man from Indianapolis named Bryan. Before we landed he bowed his head and trusted Jesus Christ as his Saviour. Afterward I remarked that I might never see him again and he replied, "Of course you will, in heaven!" I think he got it! SPECIAL BLESSINGS We thank God for the opportunities that we have had to be able to present our work and teach and preach in the churches that we have visited so far. Both Susan and I have had the privilege of speaking at our home church and it is always a special blessing to be able to minister to the folks there. PRAYER NEEDS For us as we travel the many miles we need in order to visit as many of you as possible in the time that we will be in the states. For Sasha as he fills in for me while I am gone and that the folks will continue to remain faithful in our absence. Pray that we can schedule meetings with NEW churches; and that they will want to help in prayer and financial aid for the work in the Ukraine. We would like to raise more support as the cost of living has increased over the years that we have been living there. As cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country. Sincerely in Christ |
