Dear Praying Friends:

May-June, 2002

HEAVEN IS JUST A LITTLE BIT NEARER

On the trip to Ukraine I had the privilege of leading a forty-year old woman named Frances to the Lord. Born in Chile, but living in Sweden, she was on her way home from New York City and had a good command of the English language. She was very open to the gospel and trusted the Lord as her Saviour. She is currently trying to find a good Bible-believing church in Sweden.

THE FAMILY THAT SOWS; REAPS

Dennis was once again instrumental in seeing more of his family members get saved. His nephew Igor, who got saved last September, brought his entire family out to church recently on a Sunday morning. Susan had the opportunity to lead both his mother and his 8-year old sister to the Lord while I spoke with his dad who also trusted Christ. That's a total of seven jewels for Dennis' crown since his own salvation in April of last year.

IRON SHARPENETH IRON

Sasha from our Kid's Club, who got saved in July, urged his friend Saul to speak to us because he had doubts about where he would go when he died. After he accepted Christ he told his friend Stas about it. Stas said, "What about me? I want to be saved too." We asked him if he had time to talk then and he said, "If I die before next week I will go to hell." He also trusted Christ as his Saviour. The three boys went home excited for each other and rejoicing that they all have Jesus in their hearts.

BAPTISM AND PICNIC

In August we went to a lake for baptism and church picnic. Over 50 people, including many children, joined us for a good time of fellowship. I had the privilege of baptizing eleven people who had made a public profession of faith in Jesus Christ.

WOMEN AT THE WELL

We recently had another ladies meeting and 52 ladies came out to hear what the Lord had laid on Susan's heart for them. They had a great meeting and a wonderful time of fellowship. What a blessing and encouragement these women have been to my wife in being so faithful in attending these meetings. It has been a real treat to see them grow spiritually because of it.

THE END OF SUMMER

Just before school started, we took our Kid's Club to the local playground and had a time of relay races, games, food and fellowship with them. Twenty-two kids came out and had a great time. Susan lined up the kids under the pretext of having a group photo taken, and did, while spraying them with silly string. Afterward they all got Frisbees and went crazy while the picnic was being prepared. A small meal, a short time of rest and they were ready for a game of soccer. Please pray that the kids will be faithful during the school year to come out to Kid's Club and that many more will trust Christ as their Saviour.

SPECIAL PRAYER REQUESTS

  • That the Lord will provide a much needed SMALL-ENCLOSED UTILITY TRAILER (about 2' x 4' x 6') to pull behind our van.
  • For a MULTI-MEDIA VIDEO PROJECTOR that we can use while in the states and also for when we come back to Ukraine FOR EVANGELISM.

If anybody can help us locate the items above please let us know as soon as possible. Thank you very much.

  • For our SAFE ARRIVAL back to the states for deputation and furlough.
  • For SASHA as he takes charge of the ministry in my absence. He will have a tremendous responsibility on his shoulders. We thank God that he has a good spirit and is willing to help in whatever way he can.

MAILING LIST

Thanks to those of you who responded to our recent request for updated address information. If you haven't already responded please let us know, either via email or regular mail (to our sending church), if you want to continue to receive our prayer letter. We want to save postage, and the Lord's money and if we do not hear from you by the end of October, we will remove your name from the mailing list. This does not include supporting churches. Thank you for your cooperation.

Sincerely in Christ
Dr. Michael & Susan Todd
