SALVATIONS

We have been teaching both the adults and children to win souls and the results are very encouraging as you can see by the new salvations listed below. Each one saved was a result of someone witnessing one-on-one to them. We are extremely happy to report that the following received Jesus Christ as their Saviour during these last two months:

PRAY FOR OUR PROTECTION

A couple of JW's, who have been hounding Natasha, a girl who comes to our church, recently spilled the beans about a plan the JW's have to "take care of us." Natasha was told that very soon "their church will do something which will remove our church from the village." If you remember, in September of last year, the JW's paid off two corrupt policemen to put Sasha in jail on bogus drug charges. The Lord intervened and both the cops and the JW's plans were foiled. Please be in extra special prayer for us, for Sasha, for our church folks and for the ministry and that the Lord would turn to naught the counsel of the enemy.

MAN KILLED BY MAFIA

Recently a businessman who lived on our floor in our apartment building was shot and killed on the stairway by the mafia. The murder took place in the daytime when they were lots of people on the streets, who also heard the shots. The police do not have any idea who killed the man and probably never will.

TRADING A BIBLE FOR VODKA

Katia, a very faithful lady in our church, lost her son recently to an alcohol-related death. She is the dear lady who was threatened and beaten by this same son for coming to church. He sold just about everything she owned and stole all her money for his habit. Two weeks after he sold Katia's precious Bible for a bottle of vodka he died. Please pray for Katia. Her son left her with virtually nothing. Although she never asked for anything, we were able to provide her with some essentials so she can at least live from day to day. Also her health is not the best due to all the stress and strain she lived with under her son.

THESE CHILDREN NEED OUR LOVE AND ATTENTION

Alona is only 10 years old. She recently had an operation on her appendix and is doing well at home but still recuperating. Her grandmother is a drunkard and doesn't worry too much about her so Helen (who works for us) volunteered to take care of her. The nursing staff assumed that Helen was Alona's mother because she visited her in the hospital each day and brought her food. You can see how desperately these children need our love and attention and to be told about that "Friend" who sticks closer than a brother.

FINALLY RELEASED FROM PRISON

Thank you for your prayers for Georgi Stephanchenko. He was finally released from prison in Poland and is now home with his family. He was held for over two months after crossing the border while on his way to Germany for work. He did nothing wrong, he was just held for money. The corrupt officials stole the $400 that was on him when they arrested him and then demanded $1300 for his release, which his family could not afford. Eventually when his trial came up he was released without having to pay anything. This man and his family are real good people. Praise the Lord for this answer to prayer!
